Cutting grass a few blades at a time
Lunch delivery!
The local taxi stand
Notice the girls yellow cheeks – she is wearing Thanakha. It’s worn by the locals as a beauty treatment and to protect from the sun. It’s very common to see ladies wearing large amounts on their faces.
Notice the man at the end of the bridge bathing and brushing his teeth
A look from my hotel window – I was amazed at the strength these ladies had as they carried water to a nearby construction site. Those are not small barrels – yet they fill them and place them on their heads and carry them to the site.
That is a 5 gallon (19 liters) container and loaded with water weights about 40 pounds (18 Kg)
The lone tree in land being cleared is a typical site in Myanmar. The tree and the supporting ground is left as is for one of two reasons. The builder did not pay the required tax to cut the tree down or the Monks for some reason have declared the tree holy.
